Photography
I’m relatively new to photography but it is still an art form that I truly enjoy. My love of taking pictures started on a plane ride with my uncle over Sitka, Alaska. Up until that point a camera was just a camera and pictures were just pictures. I did not put myself in the category of photographer and did not consider myself an artist.
The pictures themselves are beautiful and I enjoy looking at the pictures I take, but what I truly enjoy is the puzzle each shot presents. What do I have to do to make this picture breath taking? What can I do to the light, color or angle? These are thoughts that go through my mind, not only as I am looking through the lens of my camera, but as I look out the window of a car or walking down a sidewalk. Photography has opened up a new level of creativity for me and for that I am grateful
Now it is more than just art, a camera is more than just a camera, and a picture is more than just a picture. For me photography is the ability to share with you my perspective of the world.
I hope you enjoy the pictures below; I will change or add to this page, so come back soon.
Black & White
I have to say that black and whites are my favoive form of photography. The way the light is captured and the defination it lends to the picture are just breath taking for me.
This summer I did my first photo shot, I did this for Kellie's Senior pictures this year. We took this picture in Etna, CA Febuary Snow | July thunderstorm Senior Picture Photo shoot |
Nature
Here are some of my nature shots. I try not to leave the house with out the camera. You never know what will come up or when something will take your breath away and it never fails the most beautiful shots occur when there is no camera in sight.
At home in the yard, I was done with choirs so I picked up my camera I was waiting for Kellie when I took this shot, I was going to use this angle but I was not able to make it work. I am happy this picture turned out though I waited all winter long to get this picture. | Waiting for my Grandparents outside a mall in Santa Rosa, CA. I am so happy this picture turned out. The bird was sitting on a branch |
Went for a walk with the family after eating dinner.

Sepia tone
There is just something about Sepia and black/white that take your breath away. We have worked very hard to improve our equipment and add better color. I still like using the colors of our humble beginings.
I took this during a thunderstorm in July of 2010 | We were at a road side rest going to |
I saw the hose sitting on the porch rail and had to get my camera.
It took 30 pictures to get this one shot.
